Selfless

Living close to my sister during COVID was a blessing. I always knew she had a kind heart, but her energy is more than kindness—she is truly selfless. Her mind is like a cozy blanket, always seeking ways to comfort others, sometimes forgetting she needs comfort herself.

All I do is stand back and watch. How she sinks into her big bundle of flowers, giving each person a stem, leaving none for her own empty vase. From where I stand, it looks like a bouquet of love and generosity. For every stem she gives away, even with an empty vase, she fills it with spiritual love and energy. She gives without asking for anything in return. She knows this world is temporary, and eternal grace will never be lost. God counts it all. God is her love.

God is her love. That means the love she gives is pure, generous, and eternal. We all seek closeness to God, and embodying His many names is exactly that—the generous, the pure. The pathway is simple: we only need to live out the names God has given us as exemplars.

Thank you, my little sister.
